Protection from evil has always been sought and different beliefs have been established throughout the history. In ancient Rome, the Evil Eye mosaic was commonly placed in the house entrances to repel negative energy and evil eye. The animal figures in the mosaic fight against evil eye to protect the household and the word “KAICY” inscribed therein means “and you” in ancient Greek. The word “KAICY” in fact, implies wishing goodness for those wishing goodness and reflecting back the negative energy to those with bad intentions.
